Experiment 1

Hypothesis: The cart would move when the board was jerk but will still on the board after.


Material used: Woodern ramp

Ruler

Table

Hall's cart


Procedure: 1. Set the wooden ramp on a table with about 12" of the ramp extending over the edge of the table.

2. Place the Hall's cart pm the art of the ramp that is over the table. The cat at this point is in a state of rest.

3. Standing to one side, quickly jerk the ramp out from underneath the hall's cart. Try this 4-5 times.

4. Analyze your results.


Data: Trail 1: Cart came off but move anlittle bit.

Trail 2: Cart came off but didnt move as much.

Trail 3: Cart came off but didnt move as much.

Trail 4: Cart came off but didnt move as much.

conclusion:
The cart came off, and hit the table. When it did that the cart move just an bit then came to rest. Our hypothesis was not correct but this experiment did follow Newton's first law for an body at rest.
